Sin Free And Death Free

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

The Christian life is one of absolute liberty in Christ. The moment you were born again, you were brought into a new realm of existence, with dominion over sin and death. This is the truth the Apostle Paul unveils in Romans 8:1–2.

Notice the distinction: the one who is in Christ no longer walks according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Why? The answer is found in the second verse: a new law is now at work in him—the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

This law has made you free from the law of sin and death.

A Complete Separation

The expression “made me free” as used by the Apostle Paul carries a deeper meaning than simply being delivered from something. It conveys the thought of separation—complete separation from the dominion and influence of sin and from death.

In Christ, you have been brought into a new realm. You are sin-free and death-free.

This is a vital truth every Christian must understand. Many still think of themselves as vulnerable to the same limitations, fears, corruption, and death that dominate the natural man. But the Word of God says otherwise.

You have been brought into righteousness, life, and immortality through the Gospel.

Life and Immortality

The Gospel reveals what Christ has accomplished for us. 2 Timothy 1:9–10 says that the Lord Jesus has:

“…saved us, and called us with an holy calling… abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

The life in you is the resurrection life of Christ. It is superior to sin, darkness, sickness, fear, failure, and death.

Therefore, you should never think, talk, or act like one who is under the bondage of sin or death. The very life of God in you carries the attributes of sinlessness and deathlessness.

Walk in This Consciousness

Walk in the consciousness of who you are in Christ.

Refuse to accommodate guilt, defeat, condemnation, or death in any form. Your identity is no longer defined by the limitations of the natural man. You have been brought into a new realm through Christ.

You belong to another realm—the sin-free and death-free zone!

Live in the consciousness of eternal life. Walk in righteousness. Walk in victory. Walk in dominion.

Prayer / Confession

Dear Father,

Thank you for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, which has made me free from the law of sin and death. I walk in the consciousness of eternal life, victory, dominion, and righteousness.

Fear, condemnation, sickness, and death have no place in me. I am separated from the dominion and influence of sin and death. I walk in the resurrection life of Christ and live in the reality of Your life and power in me.

I belong to the realm of life, victory, righteousness, and immortality.
