“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23
The love and grace of the Lord toward humanity are beyond human description. From the very beginning, God's desire has always been to bring man into fellowship with Himself and make him a partaker of His divine life and glory. This is why He has freely offered humanity three extraordinary gifts—gifts so precious and glorious that no human effort, work, or achievement could ever earn them.
The first of these gifts is eternal life. Our opening scripture declares, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Eternal life is God's gift to the world. It is not reserved for a special group of people or earned through good works. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ receives eternal life and is born again.
This life is the very life and nature of God. It is superior to Satan, sickness, death, and the grave. What a glorious gift!
The second is the gift of righteousness. Romans 5:17 says, “…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”
No one can stand before God on the basis of personal righteousness because human righteousness is insufficient before Him. But in His great love and grace, God offered His own righteousness to humanity through Jesus Christ.
When you receive the gift of righteousness, you can stand before God without guilt, condemnation, fear, or inferiority. You are accepted in Christ and made righteous in Him. What an incredible blessing!
The third is the precious gift of the Holy Spirit. Through the prophet Joel, God declared, “…I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh…” (Joel 2:28).
Acts 2:38 also says, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
The Holy Spirit is God's precious gift to us. Through Him, we receive divine guidance, strength, fellowship, wisdom, and the ability to live a victorious Christian life.
The painful reality, however, is that not everyone has accepted these precious gifts. Many still try to earn through their efforts what God has freely provided by grace. But salvation in Christ—which brings eternal life, righteousness, and the gift of the Holy Spirit—is not something we work or struggle to attain. It is a gift to be received.
These are among the greatest gifts ever offered to humanity. Receive them wholeheartedly and walk in the fullness of their blessings today. Live in the reality of eternal life, stand boldly in the gift of righteousness, and enjoy the fellowship and power of the Holy Spirit.
God has freely given. Your responsibility is simply to receive and walk in the fullness of all He has provided.
PRAYER / CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank You for Your immeasurable love and for the precious gifts of eternal life, righteousness, and the Holy Spirit. I receive and walk in the reality and fullness of these blessings today. I reign victoriously in life and manifest Your glory everywhere. Thank You for making Your divine life available to me and for giving me everything I need to live a victorious life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
