What you'll be stepping into
esponsible, safety-conscious and experienced Driver to transport airline staff, authorised passengers, equipment, documents and cargo.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safe and timely transportation, vehicle maintenance, route planning and compliance with national traffic regulations. The role requires a clean driving record, strong timekeeping, basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
The Driver will also assist with loading and unloading baggage and cargo, maintaining accurate vehicle records and ensuring that assigned vehicles remain clean and roadworthy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Transportation and Driving
Transport airline staff and authorised passengers to designated destinations as instructed.
Deliver and collect documents, equipment and other goods as assigned.
Follow planned routes or use maps and GPS navigation to reach destinations efficiently.
Assist passengers and visitors with directions and general travel guidance when required.
Support the loading and unloading of baggage and cargo.
Ensure passengers, goods and equipment are transported safely and on time.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
Keep assigned vehicles clean, presentable and in good working condition.
Inspect vehicles regularly and promptly report faults or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
Ensure vehicles are serviced according to the required maintenance schedule.
Monitor vehicle insurance renewal dates and help ensure insurance remains up to date.
Maintain a safe driving record and comply with national traffic laws and road safety standards.
Exercise care when transporting passengers, equipment and cargo.
3. Records and Documentation
Maintain accurate monthly mileage records.
Complete vehicle logbooks and other required documentation.
Prepare mileage, passenger and cargo reports as required.
Monitor vehicle servicing schedules and report maintenance needs promptly.
Ensure all assigned records are accurate and up to date.
4. Teamwork and Other Duties
Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
Demonstrate flexibility when assigned different driving or transportation duties.
Follow instructions from supervisors and perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Maintain professionalism when interacting with passengers, staff and visitors.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
A valid driving licence with the required classes: B, B1, D1 and D, as specified in the advert.
A clean driving record.
At least an Advanced Level (A-Level) Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
A certificate in defensive driving.
At least three years of continuous driving experience in a busy and reputable organisation.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
A valid Interpol certificate confirming a clean record, as required by the advert.
Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to identify common vehicle faults.
Demonstrated punctuality and good timekeeping.
Added advantage: Experience driving an electric bus.
