What you'll be stepping into
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the implementation of advocacy strategies and programmes in line with departmental objectives and priorities.
Monitor and track relevant government policies, legislation, and regulatory developments that may affect the business.
Conduct research and analysis on public policy matters, economic issues, and industry trends.
Assist in preparing policy briefs, position papers, reports, presentations, and other policy-related materials.
Support the development and maintenance of strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulators, industry associations, and other relevant bodies.
Coordinate meetings, forums, consultations, and engagements with external stakeholders.
Represent the Head of Advocacy & Corporate Communications in selected industry engagements, forums, and advocacy platforms as assigned.
Support the internal communication and dissemination of policy developments, regulatory updates, and advocacy priorities.
Maintain an up-to-date stakeholder database and monitor and document stakeholder engagement outcomes.
Assist in identifying advocacy-related risks and opportunities and escalate significant matters to the appropriate level.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.
Provide guidance and supervision to Policy Research Analysts to support effective delivery of assigned responsibilities.
Academic Qualifications, Skills and Experience
A Master’s Degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Finance, Communications, or a related field.
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in advocacy, public affairs, government relations, finance, economics, or a related role.
Membership in a relevant professional body in Economics, Statistics, Law, or Government Relations will be an added advantage.
Basic understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
Experience in stakeholder engagement will be an added advantage.
Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Good communication and report-writing abilities.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
