What you'll be stepping into
The Head of Advocacy & Corporate Communications will lead the company’s advocacy, public policy, stakeholder engagement, and corporate communications efforts, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives. The role will also drive corporate reputation, policy engagement, regulatory relationships, and initiatives that support business growth and a strong brand image.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s advocacy strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
Monitor, analyse, and interpret government policies, legislation, and regulatory developments that may affect the business.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, policymakers, regulators, industry stakeholders, and other key actors across local, regional, EPA/FTA, and other relevant markets where the company and its affiliates operate or source from.
Represent Roofings Limited and its affiliates in industry forums, associations, public policy discussions, and other relevant engagements.
Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening the company’s leadership position on key industry issues.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure advocacy initiatives are aligned with business priorities.
Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify advocacy-related risks and opportunities and provide timely strategic advice to senior management.
Drive corporate reputation management through proactive stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, and thought leadership.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and governance frameworks in collaboration with relevant user departments.
Lead advocacy initiatives aimed at enhancing business revenue, reducing costs, incentivising investment, and strengthening the company’s brand image.
Supervise and provide strategic direction to the Economic Policy Affairs Manager, Regulatory Affairs Manager, and Communications Specialist.
Academic Qualifications, Skills and Experience
A PhD or Master’s Degree in Law, Finance, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum relevant experience of:
3 years for candidates with a PhD; or
7 years for candidates with a Master’s Degree.
Membership in a relevant professional body in Economics, Statistics, Law, or Government Relations will be desirable.
Proven experience engaging with government institutions and regulatory bodies.
Strong understanding of policy development and legislative processes.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
High level of integrity and professionalism
