What you'll be stepping into
To conduct high-quality research and teach undergraduate, postgraduate and research students as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares lectures and delivers them to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Sets tests, examinations and coursework.
Administers and invigilates tests and examinations.
Marks tests, coursework and examination scripts, compiles and grades examination results.
Guides and advises students on their academic performance.
Attends to students' non-academic challenges and refers those that need further counselling and guidance.
Conducts research and disseminates research findings through conferences, seminars, and publications.
Supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking research projects.
Conducts seminars and tutorials.
Carries out official administrative duties in the department as directed by the Head of Department.
Contributes to the University and wider society through community service.
Person Specification:
Should have an earned PhD or Master's degree on the PhD track in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
Should have a Master of Medicine in Anatomy or Surgery from a recognized institution.
Should have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.8.
Must have evidence of registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council at the time of application.
Should have proven academic ability in research, publication, and teaching.
Should be computer literate.
Should have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at a recognized academic institution of higher learning.
Should have at least three (3) scholarly publications in the area of specialization.
