What you'll be stepping into

Doctorate or a Masters Degree with six (06) years teaching experience in Nursing plus at least three publications in a refereed journal or a book chapter. Certified Tutors are eligible to apply. Active, valid registered nurse license with the Nurses Council.

Job Tasks

  1. Deliver lectures, seminars and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses and contribute to the continuous development of academic programmes.

  2. Design, set, invigilate, mark and grade coursework, tests and examinations, and upload results to the academic management system.

  3. Supervise students during clinical practice, skills-laboratory sessions, community-health placements and hospital rotations.

  4. Develop original teaching and learning materials (nursing procedures, case studies, simulation scenarios) and upload them to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

  5. Conduct independent research in nursing and related health fields.

  6. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking research projects, dissertations and community-health projects.

  7. Prepare and submit project proposals and grant applications to secure funding for nursing education, research and community-health initiatives.

  8. Participate in the periodic review and updating of nursing curricula to ensure compliance with NCHE, UNC and Ministry of Health standards.

  9. Provide individual academic advising, performance feedback and professional mentoring to nursing students.

  10. Maintain and update clinical skills, professional registration and continuing professional development in line with nursing regulatory requirements.

  11. Coordinate simulation-based learning, skills-laboratory resources and clinical-placement logistics.

  12. Engage in community outreach, health-education programmes and inter-professional collaboration that advance nursing practice and public health.

  13. Perform assigned departmental administrative duties and contribute to quality-assurance and programme-accreditation processes.
