Role overview
What you'll be stepping into
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop study-specific pharmacy manuals and standard operating procedures
Dispensing investigational medical products (IMPs) according to specified procedures
Maintaining IMP accountability and study documents in the pharmacy study binder
Maintaining proper IMP storage conditions
Communicating IMP related issues to the study team, distributors, and sponsors
Inform patients on the correct use of study medication and counsel patients on when they should take the medication
Sourcing concomitant medicines and medical sundries locally
Training of study team on IMP and patients or providers on correct use of IMP
Support calibration of all equipment used during trials
Ensure compliance with trial medicines storage
Act as a liaison between NDA and MLI, import drugs & sundries and assist with ethical submissions
Support supervision of junior pharmacy staff including training of new pharmacy staff and interns
Provide a weekly report on all pharmacy related activities Qualifications and Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
Registration with the Pharmacy Board at the Ministry of Health Uganda
Annual Membership Certificate (AMC) from the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or Human Subjects Protection (HSP) certificate
At least one years’ experience in a research or clinical trial setting
Experience using the NDA Management Information System is desirable
Procurement and supply chain experience is desirable
Desired Skills:
