Job Summary: The Pharmacy Dispenser will support the safe and efficient dispensing of medicines and provide patients with appropriate information on medication use under the supervision of the responsible pharmacy professional.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process prescriptions appropriately.

  • Select, prepare, package, and label medicines accurately.

  • Verify medication details before dispensing.

  • Provide patients with clear instructions on medication use within the scope of the role.

  • Maintain accurate dispensing and inventory records.

  • Monitor medicine stocks, expiry dates, and storage conditions.

  • Assist with stock counts and replenishment.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.

  • Identify and report prescription discrepancies or potential medication concerns to the responsible pharmacist.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Follow applicable pharmacy, health, safety, and regulatory procedures.

  • Provide courteous and professional customer service.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant pharmacy dispensing qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Appropriate professional registration/licensing where required.

  • Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage.

  • Good numerical and record-keeping skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good communication and customer-service skills.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
