What you'll be stepping into
The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements are complete, precise, testable, and effectively translated into comprehensive testing activities. The role will support the planning, execution, documentation, and continuous improvement of software quality assurance processes across projects and software changes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Requirements Review
Champion and coordinate reviews of business requirements across functional teams.
Ensure that business requirements are complete, precise, clear, and testable.
Work closely with relevant stakeholders to identify gaps and clarify requirements before testing begins.
2. Test Strategy and Planning
Work with project teams to define and develop overall project test strategies and test plans.
Plan test schedules and testing approaches in line with project requirements and delivery timelines.
Identify required testing resources and estimate testing effort based on project scope and delivery dates.
Ensure that agreed test strategies are effectively implemented.
3. Test Case and Test Artifact Development
Develop, document, and maintain functional and non-functional test cases.
Develop and maintain test scripts and other test artefacts, including:
Test data.
Data validation scripts.
Harness scripts.
Automated testing scripts.
Ensure testing documentation remains accurate, current, and aligned with project requirements.
4. Test Execution and Validation
Work collaboratively with business units and project teams to execute and validate test cases.
Ensure test cases are directly traceable to approved business requirements.
Validate that developed solutions meet the defined business requirements and expected outcomes.
5. SQA Process Improvement
Work with GEA and other critical stakeholders to continuously improve Software Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
Support the adoption of appropriate SQA tools and technologies.
Develop and implement reusable templates in line with the maturity and adoption of the SQA Framework.
6. Test Process and Environment Management
Define the testing process, including required test activities and deliverables.
Conduct Test Readiness Assessments before planned testing activities.
Establish appropriate test beds and environments.
Ensure test beds are available and adequately prepared for planned white-box and black-box testing activities.
7. Non-Functional Testing
Engage, champion, and collaborate with technical teams and personnel in conducting non-functional testing.
Support testing activities covering:
Integration testing.
Regression testing.
Load testing.
Performance testing.
Security testing.
Usability testing.
8. Defect Reporting and Test Results
Prepare, share, and periodically review test results.
Identify and report defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
Document identified issues and work with relevant teams to support their resolution.
Develop test acceptance reports for projects and software changes.
9. Post-Deployment Testing and Review
Work with business units to conduct post-deployment sanity and regression testing.
Conduct post-implementation reviews within the defined period.
Confirm that deployed solutions operate as intended and meet approved business requirements.
10. Software Process Improvement
Participate in the formulation and implementation of software process improvement policies and strategies for the IT Division.
Support initiatives aimed at strengthening software quality, testing effectiveness, and overall IT delivery standards.
