Role overview
What you'll be stepping into
KEY DUTIES:
Carry out routine preventive maintenance checks on air conditioners and chillers.
Plan installation of the air conditioning units.
Prepare daily activity reports for submission to the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Supervisor
Diagnose malfunctions and report to the Electrical Supervisor to arrange for corrective maintenance
Provide new installation service, repairing the existing ones and replacing the tempered parts of Refrigeration and Air conditioning units.
Clean the parts like coil, drain lines, cooling towers, condensation pans and other essential parts to ensure that unit operates properly at all times.
Make requisitions for parts and necessary equipment for the purpose of inventory maintenance to ensure the availability of required items and tools to complete the necessary installation and repair work.
Ensure work is completed efficiently & timely in order maximize utilization of refrigeration plant and equipment
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with health, safety and environmental procedures and legislation as well as maintaining housekeeping standards
Support the Installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment
Support the upgrade of refrigeration systems to satisfy new regulations or meet new standards
Adhere to change relevant Management procedures and work instructions as well as complying with maintenance best practices
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with health, safety and environmental procedures and legislation as well as practicing and maintaining housekeeping standards
Carryout maintenance on refrigeration equipment as per instruction/job plan to reduce on return jobs
Maintain strong & effective working relationships within team and cross-functionally
Participate in problem solving
Any other duties assigned by the Mechanical Supervisor / Mechanical Technician.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
National / Ordinary Diploma in Refrigeration / Mechanical Engineering.
At least 2 years’ experience with refrigeration systems in FMCG Manufacturing Environment
Strong computer knowledge, Fiix or CMMS, Microsoft Office. Problem solving methods and tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Risk Analysis (FMEA)
Must be good at application of creativity and innovative skills in managing projects
Possess strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical and troubleshooting skills
Self-motivated with excellent personnel management skills
Ability to handle multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced working environment
Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent team player and has the ability to manage time in an efficient manner
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and presentation skills.
Resilience and the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work within a changing environment and respond to different demands with a sense of urgency.
Good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, methods and techniques preferably in a food manufacturing/production environment.
