What you'll be stepping into
The Relationship Manager will manage and grow corporate relationships within the Trade & Business sector, focusing on business origination, customer retention, revenue growth, and delivery of excellent customer experiences.
The role requires a strong understanding of clients’ businesses and operations to identify opportunities, increase the Bank’s share of wallet, and provide tailored financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage strategic relationships with Trade & Business clients to drive sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.
Identify and originate new business opportunities across lending, transaction banking, trade finance, treasury, and capital markets.
Serve as the primary relationship contact and understand clients’ business needs to provide appropriate financial solutions.
Conduct credit analysis, prepare credit proposals, and proactively manage credit and portfolio risks.
Structure and support complex transactions, including project finance, syndicated loans, and structured financing.
Provide clients with relevant insights on industry trends, regulatory developments, commodity markets, and emerging opportunities.
Work closely with Product, Risk, Legal, Operations, and other teams to deliver integrated financial solutions.
Manage customer portfolios to achieve agreed revenue, sales, profitability, and growth targets.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, risk controls, and governance standards.
Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring portfolio quality and sustainable profitability.
Qualifications & Experience
University degree with Honours from a recognised institution.
At least 6 years’ banking experience, including 4 years in corporate relationship management and sales.
Proven track record in sales and business development.
Experience in relationship management, credit, and corporate banking is an advantage.
Strong understanding of corporate banking and financial solutions.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong commercial and business acumen.
Self-driven, energetic, adaptable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong team-player mentality with a results-oriented approach.
