About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Consultant to join our dynamic Advisory team. The successful candidate will play a leading role in delivering high-quality technology advisory assignments across multiple sectors. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong client-facing skills.
Reporting to the IT Advisory Manager, the Senior IT Consultant will oversee engagements from planning through execution and reporting, ensuring client objectives are met and the Firm’s quality standards are upheld. The role also involves mentoring junior staff, participating in training activities, supporting business development, and contributing to the continuous growth of the IT Advisory practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage IT advisory assignments, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations, timelines, and the Firm’s quality standards.
Supervise work streams, review outputs, and provide guidance to team members.
Engage with client leadership to define project objectives, report progress, and present findings.
Develop comprehensive reports and presentations that clearly communicate complex technical matters.
Core Advisory Areas
The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical input across several IT advisory domains. While not required to have deep experience in every area, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to lead or contribute to engagements spanning multiple advisory domains. We are seeking a professional with broad IT knowledge and deep expertise in a few key areas. You must have demonstrable, hands-on experience in at least two (2) areas in each of the following clusters.
IT Risk and Assurance
Information Systems Audits (ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Etc.)
IT Governance (strategies, frameworks, policies, and risk management aligned to COBIT, ISO/IEC 38500)
Cybersecurity Program Reviews
Data Privacy and Protection Advisory (compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, GDPR, and other laws)
Technology Advisory and Transformation
System Implementation Quality Assurance and Post-Implementation Reviews
Digital Transformation Strategy and Roadmap Development
Cloud Strategy and Readiness Assessment
IT Architecture Review and Technology Selection Advisory
IT Resilience and Transactional Advisory
IT Service Management (ITSM) Maturity Assessments
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
IT Due Diligence and Post-Merger IT Integration (PMI) Strategy
Business Development and Training
Participate in business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Support the growth of the IT Advisory practice through knowledge sharing and innovation.
Facilitate internal and external training sessions to enhance capability across the team and with clients.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, or
Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) will be an added advantage.
Certification or demonstrable experience in System Implementation or ERP Quality Assurance is desirable.
At least five (5) years of progressive experience in IT advisory, audit, or risk management, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and small multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, enterprise systems, and digital transformation trends.
Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
High level of integrity, initiative, and ability to work independently.
