What you'll be stepping into
To install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and systems based on engineering designs.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Technical Diploma in Mechanical engineering, Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics or another related field.
At least two (2) years of mechanical maintenance experience in feed or food processing or manufacturing environments
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment independently
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience on conveyors, mixers, slicers, motors, and related equipment
Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures
Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance documentation.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic tools.
Repair or replacing defective parts to reduce operational delays.
Perform hot work such as metal fabrication, cutting, and welding to repair structural components or build custom machine parts.
Conduct routine inspections, lubricate moving parts, and perform scheduled maintenance to prevent equipment failures
Assist engineering teams with the assembly, alignment, installation, and commissioning of new machinery or heavy equipment
Read and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and engineering blueprints to understand system architecture.
Maintaining logs and preparing daily operational reports for the Mechanical Supervisor
Adhere to strict occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring workplace safety and proper handling of tools by managing occupational hazards associated with dust and particulate matter and power leakages.
Ensure strict compliance with industrial safety standards by putting in place the required biosafety and biosecurity measures.
