What you'll be stepping into
The Work Readiness Program (WRP) is implemented by Enabel and the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) to improve the employability and productivity of young graduates from universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
The program provides graduates with an opportunity to gain practical work experience and strengthen their soft skills through workplace attachments in key sectors, including:
Agriculture
Tourism and Hospitality
Green Economy, including renewable energy, green construction, forestry, e-mobility, and related areas.
Through the program, graduates will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained during their studies while developing the practical skills, competencies, and workplace experience required by employers, ultimately improving their chances of securing employment.
General Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should meet the following conditions:
Be a Ugandan citizen originating from or residing in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, Jinja, Kamuli, Kasese, Fort Portal City, Kabarole, Kyegegwa, Hoima, Arua, Yumbe, Madi-Okolo, or Terego.
Refugees living in Uganda are also eligible to apply.
Be aged between 18 and 35 years.
Have graduated from a higher education institution within the last five years.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a recognised higher education institution, including colleges and universities.
Be seeking employment opportunities in the targeted sectors.
Be willing to participate in both online and physical soft-skills training.
Be willing to commit to the six-month Work Readiness Program.
Important Information
No fees or charges are required to attend the interview or to join the program if selected.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview at a venue that will be communicated to them.
The interview date and time will be communicated to shortlisted candidates via email.
Placement in the program does not guarantee employment or absorption by the host company after completion.
Candidates will be required to present the original copies of their certificates, testimonials, and other relevant documents during the interview.
Female graduates trained in male-dominated trades within the targeted sectors are particularly encouraged to apply.
