The Chalmers University Scholarship Sweden is a fully funded research role within one of Europe’s leading technical universities.

The scholarships are offered as fully funded PhD positions for international students and those from Sweden to contribute to research, development, and advancement of science in several fields.

Available fields range from physics, engineering, AI, computing, maritime, communication, software, environmental and life sciences, architecture, etc.

Eligibility Requirements for Chalmers University Scholarship Sweden 2026

To be considered for the Chalmers University Scholarship Sweden, you must:

  • have a Bachelor’s and/or a Master’s degree of 120 credits or a Master’s degree (magisterexamen) of 60 credits* in of 120 credits

  • Show proficiency in English (oral and written). Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage but not required at the time of application.

  • Have strong research aptitude in both qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Be self-driven, analytical, and passionate about creating real-world impact through research.

Selected Candidates will be expected to;

  • Conduct high-quality empirical research in collaboration with industry

  • Publish in high-impact journals and present at global conferences

  • Engage in teaching, student mentoring, and contribute to department activities (up to 20% of your time)

  • Complete the PhD within 4 to 5 years.
