About the DAAD Young Ambassadors Program

The DAAD Young Ambassadors Program is a unique and exciting volunteer opportunity designed to enable young scholars and students to promote study and research opportunities in Germany.

The program provides selected participants with the knowledge, skills, and platform to encourage other students to consider Germany as a destination for higher education and research.

As Young Ambassadors, participants help promote study and research opportunities in Germany within their universities and communities. They may work closely with university study abroad offices, participate in education fairs, organize presentations and information sessions, conduct class visits, host engaging events, and answer questions from fellow students interested in studying in Germany.

The program also provides participants with valuable training and recognition while allowing them to develop leadership, communication, networking, and public speaking skills.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the DAAD Young Ambassadors 2027 Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a national of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, or Sri Lanka.

  • Have studied, or be currently studying or conducting research, in Germany.

  • Be below 32 years of age as of January 1, 2027.

  • Be enthusiastic about promoting Germany and sharing information about study and research opportunities through presentations, events, and other activities.

  • Be willing and able to participate in the Young Ambassadors Training Workshop, scheduled to take place online in November 2026.
