📌 About Harvard University Financial Aid

Harvard University offers one of the most generous undergraduate financial-aid programmes in the United States.

Harvard College follows a need-blind admission policy, meaning that requesting financial aid does not reduce an applicant's chances of admission. The university also meets 100% of each admitted student's demonstrated financial need. International students receive financial aid under the same policies as U.S. students.

Importantly, Harvard does not award academic or athletic merit scholarships. Harvard-administered financial aid is based entirely on demonstrated financial need.

💰 What Can the Financial Aid Cover?

Harvard determines each student's financial need individually and creates an aid package designed to meet that need.

Depending on the family's financial circumstances, assistance may cover:

  • Tuition

  • Fees

  • Housing

  • Food

  • Other educational expenses

  • Other demonstrated financial need

Harvard states that families with annual incomes below US$100,000, assuming typical assets, are expected to pay nothing toward the cost of attending Harvard. Families with incomes between US$100,000 and US$200,000 receive financial aid covering at least the full cost of tuition, with additional aid likely depending on circumstances. Families earning above US$200,000 may also qualify for financial aid depending on their individual circumstances.

🌍 International Students

International students are fully eligible to apply for Harvard's need-based financial aid.

Harvard states that its financial-aid policies are the same regardless of nationality or citizenship. An international student's request for financial aid does not disadvantage them during the admission process.

This makes Harvard particularly attractive for talented international students who would otherwise be unable to afford a U.S. university education.

🎯 Who Can Apply?

The opportunity is suitable for:

  • International students applying for first-year undergraduate admission.

  • Students with exceptional academic and personal achievements.

  • Students who demonstrate financial need.

  • Students completing secondary/high school or equivalent qualifications.

  • Students who meet Harvard College admission requirements.

Admission to Harvard is extremely competitive. Financial need does not reduce an applicant's admission chances, but applicants must still meet Harvard's highly competitive admission standards.
