Who Can Apply for the Helmut Veith Stipend?
The scholarship is specifically intended for female students in computer science who plan to pursue one of the eligible English-taught master’s programmes at TU Wien.

In addition, candidates are expected to have, or demonstrate an interest in developing, a solid mathematical and technical background in at least one area related to Professor Helmut Veith’s fields of work.
Application Documents
Applicants are required to prepare several documents as part of their scholarship application.
1. Cover Letter
The cover letter should explain the type of funding the applicant is applying for and include any other information the applicant considers relevant to the application.
2. Curriculum Vitae
Applicants should provide an up-to-date CV presenting their academic background, experience, skills, achievements, and other relevant information.
3. Motivation Letter
The motivation letter should explain:
Why the applicant wants to study the selected master’s programme.
Why financial support is necessary.
Which faculty groups the applicant would be interested in working with during their master’s thesis.
Why the applicant is interested in working with those groups.
4. University Transcripts
Applicants must submit reports on their university examinations, including relevant academic transcripts.
5. Diplomas and Certificates
Applicants should provide their academic diplomas and/or certificates, including their first degree, bachelor’s degree, or higher qualifications.
If the final academic certificate is not available by the application deadline, applicants may submit a preliminary certificate. The preliminary certificate must indicate the type of degree and expected graduation date and must be signed and stamped by the degree-awarding university.
6. Details of Two Referees
Applicants must provide the contact details of two referees who can provide letters of recommendation.
At least one referee must be from a university or academic institution.
7. English Language Certificate
Applicants should provide proof of English language proficiency, such as a TOEFL certificate or similar qualification.
However, applicants whose bachelor’s studies were taught in English may instead provide confirmation from their university indicating the number of semesters during which they studied in English.
8. Passport Copy
A copy of the applicant’s passport must also be submitted.
Translation Requirement
Documents that are not written in German or English must be accompanied by a certified translation.
