Important Funding Condition

Applicants must declare any other scholarships or financial support they receive for the same master's programme.

If additional funding is available, the IAEA may reduce its financial contribution accordingly. Failure to disclose other scholarships in a timely and transparent manner may result in suspension of IAEA support.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme, applicants must:

  1. Be female.

  2. Be a citizen of an IAEA Member State.

  3. Be accepted by, or enrolled in, an accredited university in a master's programme.

  4. Be pursuing a degree in a nuclear-related field relevant to the IAEA's work.

Preference is given to candidates with strong academic records, generally:

  • 75% or above, or

  • GPA above 3.0/4.0.

The programme supports master's studies in nuclear-related areas, including:

  • Nuclear Engineering

  • Nuclear Physics

  • Nuclear Chemistry

  • Nuclear Medicine

  • Isotopic Techniques

  • Radiation Biology

  • Nuclear Safety

  • Nuclear Non-Proliferation

  • Nuclear Law

Other related fields may also qualify depending on their relevance to the IAEA's mandate.

Selection Process

Applications are assessed by the IAEA MSCFP Technical Selection Committee.

The assessment considers factors including:

  • Expected impact of the fellowship on the applicant's career

  • Commitment to public service

  • Geographic diversity

  • Field-of-study diversity

Obligations of Selected Fellows

Successful applicants will receive a fellowship offer and must confirm acceptance within one week.

The offer will outline the award details, payment arrangements, expected commitments and administrative requirements.

Selected fellows are expected to:

  • Complete their master's programme.

  • Comply with the conditions of the fellowship.

  • Meet the programme requirements.

Failure to complete the master's programme or comply with fellowship requirements may result in termination of the award and a requirement to repay tuition and living-cost support received from the IAEA.

  1. Passport or National ID copy

  2. Official university admission/acceptance letter confirming:

    • Admission to the master's programme

    • Nuclear-related field of study

    • Duration of the programme

  3. Statement of tuition fees or confirmation of tuition costs

  4. Documentation concerning other scholarships or financial support, if applicable
