Aim and Benefits of MTCP Scholarship Postgraduate Scholarship

  • Monthly allowance

  • A one-time economy class flight ticket from the student’s closest international airport to Malaysia for the start of the scholarship programme and a return ticket to the student’s home country upon the completion of the scholarship programme.


Requirements for MTCP Scholarship Postgraduate Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must comply with the following criteria:

  • Not more than 45 years old at the time of application;

  • Obtain a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent at the Undergraduate level;

  • Provide proof of English Language Proficiency:

    • Scanned copy of the original proof of English Language Proficiency such as IELTS (minimum total score 6) or TOEFL internet-based test (minimum total score of 60); or

    • Has obtained a previous degree(s) with English used as the medium of instruction.

  • Excellent level of health certified by a doctor/ physician. The cost of the medical check-up shall be fully borne by the applicant. Medical report form can be downloaded from the MTCP Scholarship website. The Medical Report must be valid within six (6) months from the date of application.

Priority will be given to the following areas of study:

  • Information and Communication Technology;

  • Economy and Trade;

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM);

  • Food Security and Agriculture Technology;

  • Islamic Finance;

  • Law;

  • Public Administration and Policy Studies; and

  • Sustainable and Environmental Science.

* Not applicable for Nursing, Medicine & Clinical Pharmacy courses

Interview date, Process and Venue for MTCP Scholarship Postgraduate Scholarship

Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:

  • High-level academic and extra-curricular achievement;

  • Excellent proficiency in English (communication, writing and reading); and

  • Demonstrated preparation for the chosen programme of study.

Documents Required for Application

Applicants are required to submit the following documents in the online application system (scanned and saved in PDF format) to complete their application:

  • Copy of Passport Information Page as evidence of nationality (minimum of 12 months validity).

  • Copy of Academic Transcript;

    • Record of all the courses taken throughout the degree programme must be reflected in the academic transcripts;

    • Applicants must submit transcripts of their undergraduate studies; and

    • Applicants must submit an official document issued by the applicants’ alma mater describing the university’s grade system. If an applicant’s transcript does not include information on CGPA, marks or score percentile, the documents must be certified.

  • Proof of English Language Proficiency test (TOEFL/IELTS/TOEFL iBT/PTE Academic/PTE Academic Online/CEQ/CIEP - ELS) or an official letter from the previous institution declaring English as the medium of instruction used for the obtained degree(s).

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Medical Report (can be downloaded from the MTCP scholarship website).

  • Letter of Recommendation from two (2) referees (can be downloaded from the MTCP Scholarship website).

  • Valid Full Offer Letter from Malaysian Universities for academic intake September/October 2026 (refer to the MTCP Scholarship FAQ for more information).
