This award recognizes the ongoing global challenge of maternal mortality and honors organizations that are taking significant steps to promote maternal health equity.Through this award, MSD for Mothers aims to support and celebrate efforts to ensure safe and equitable pregnancy and childbirth experiences for all women, particularly those from marginalized communities.Nominated organizations led by individuals from marginalized groups are eligible for consideration. MSD for Mothers currently accepts nominations for this prestigious award, encouraging individual and self-nominations.

The winning applicant will receive the following benefits:

• Financial Aid: One-time grant of up to USD 250,000

The Kenneth C. Frazier Award for Maternal Health Equity Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• The application is only open to non-profit organizations

• They must have demonstrated an impact on advancing maternal health equity.

• Organizations can only win one-time eligibility for the Kenneth C. Frazier Award for Maternal Health Equity.

• Organizations led by representatives of the population they serve are eligible.

• Only non-profit organizations are funded by MSD for Mothers.

• City and state health departments, government entities, hospitals, political organizations, and entities with discriminatory practices are not eligible.

• Grants up to USD 250,000 must not exceed 50% of the annual operating budget.

• Execution of the grant agreement is mandatory for eligibility.

• Ineligible expenses include the following:

  • Commercial activities

  • Engagement purposes with government officials,

  •  Healthcare provider payments,

  • Durable goods purchase

  • Capital expenses

  • Unrelated supplies/equipment

  • Staff salaries
