The program will examine how these developments affect women, journalists, peacebuilders, human rights defenders, and feminist movements while also exploring opportunities to use technology to advance peace and justice.
Twenty-Five Young Feminist Leaders to Be Selected
A total of 25 young feminist activists from around the world will be chosen to participate in the intensive virtual program.
The cohort will take part in weekly learning sessions from:

28 September 2026
Participants will engage in collaborative discussions, skills development workshops, mentorship opportunities, and peer learning activities designed to strengthen feminist leadership and collective action.
Key Learning Objectives
The program aims to help participants better understand the intersection of technology, power, and peacebuilding.
Core learning areas include:
Understanding how artificial intelligence is reshaping conflict, security, and governance
Examining gendered impacts of emerging technologies
Analyzing AI-driven disinformation and digital manipulation
Strengthening digital security and online safety practices
Developing counter-disinformation strategies
Exploring feminist approaches to AI governance
Leveraging technology to support peacebuilding and social justice
Building international solidarity and activist networks
The initiative also seeks to foster long-term collaboration among participants working across different regions and social movements.
Honorarium Available for Selected Participants
To support full participation, NWI will provide an honorarium to participants who successfully complete the program.
The financial support is intended to help cover:
Internet access
Workspace expenses
Transportation costs
Caregiving responsibilities
Other participation-related barriers
Participants must provide valid banking information to receive the honorarium at the conclusion of the program.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to feminist leadership and social change.
Essential criteria include:
Interest or experience in feminist peacebuilding
Engagement in women’s rights, digital rights, or social justice movements
Leadership potential within local communities
Ability to participate effectively in English
Commitment to attending at least 80% of live program sessions
Age between 18 and 35 years
The Nobel Women’s Initiative has also stated that trans and non-binary activists are encouraged to apply.

Previous experience in these areas is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

Building the Next Generation of Feminist Leaders
Inspired by the work of Nobel Peace Prize laureates and the leadership of journalist and Nobel laureate Maria Ressa, the Sister-to-Sister Program aims to empower young activists to navigate and reshape the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
By combining feminist leadership development with critical discussions on artificial intelligence, peacebuilding, and digital rights, the 2026 program seeks to strengthen global networks of women and gender-diverse leaders working toward a more just, peaceful, and equitable future
