What this programme is offering
The University of Oxford, through Saïd Business School, is offering up to three AfOx Graduate Scholarships for the 2027–28 MBA programme.
The scholarships are designed for African students who have experienced hardship and demonstrate a clear commitment to contributing to the development of Africa.
The opportunity is supported through a partnership between the University of Oxford, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme and the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), with support from Oxford Saïd Business School.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful AfOx Graduate Scholarship recipients will receive comprehensive financial and developmental support during their MBA studies at Oxford.
The scholarship package includes:
Full MBA course fees
Living-cost grant of at least £21,805
Tailor-made training programmes
Networking opportunities
Support before, during and after the Oxford programme
Access to an international academic and professional network
With up to three scholarships available, the opportunity is intended for candidates who can demonstrate strong academic and leadership potential together with a commitment to Africa's development.
Eligibility Requirements
The AfOx Graduate Scholarship is specifically aimed at eligible African applicants.
Applicants must:
Be citizens of an African country.
Be ordinarily resident in an African country.
Not already have completed a Master's degree.
Demonstrate a commitment to Africa's development.
Submit an application for the Oxford MBA programme by the relevant deadline.
Applicants should ensure that their MBA application clearly demonstrates their academic background, professional experience, leadership potential and commitment to contributing to Africa's development.
No Separate Scholarship Application
Applicants do not need to submit a separate application for the AfOx Graduate Scholarship.
Instead, eligible candidates must complete and submit their Oxford MBA application by the relevant deadline.
Applicants who are shortlisted for the scholarship interview will subsequently be contacted by the University of Oxford.
This makes the MBA application particularly important. Candidates should use their application to clearly communicate their academic achievements, professional experience, leadership development, career goals and commitment to Africa.
Application Deadline
The deadline for the 2027–28 AfOx Graduate Scholarship is 6 January 2027.
