About the opportunity
What this programme is offering
Eligibility and selection
The scholarship targets outstanding new international students admitted to Year One of a full-time undergraduate program at Waterloo in Canada. Candidates normally need a final admission average of about 90% or higher to be considered. Selection is based primarily on academic excellence, with some faculties also looking at the Admission Information Form and, for Mathematics, results from contests such as the Euclid Math Contest.
Recipients must be paying international tuition and enrolled full-time in their first term; continued full-time study is usually expected for disbursement.
Funding and use
The award is valued at CAD $10,000 and is generally applied toward first-year costs, typically as a credit to the student’s account to help with tuition and fees. It is a partial-funding scholarship, meant to reduce, not completely cover, the cost of study.
Application process
No separate scholarship application, essay, or form is required. All eligible international applicants to first-year undergraduate programs are automatically considered based on their admission application and academic record. Offers are made to top candidates in the incoming class, often around the time admission decisions are released
