Internship Overview
The selected Research Intern will work closely with the Xenowatch team to support ongoing monitoring and documentation activities.

Key Responsibilities
The Research Intern will support the Xenowatch Project through a range of research and monitoring activities.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring Xenophobia-Related Incidents
The intern will:
Monitor traditional media sources.
Track social media platforms for reports of xenophobic discrimination and violence.
Identify emerging incidents and trends.
Data Verification and Management
The successful candidate will:
Verify reports of xenophobic incidents.
Maintain and update the Xenowatch incident database.
Ensure accuracy and reliability of collected information.
Stakeholder Engagement
The role includes:
Engaging with partner organizations across South Africa.
Coordinating information sharing and verification efforts.
Supporting collaboration with civil society and community-based organizations.
Project Support
The intern will also:
Assist the Project Coordinator with Xenowatch activities.
Support research-related tasks.
Contribute to project administration and reporting where necessary.
