About the Position
The University is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and hardworking Design and Graphics Assistant to support its communication, marketing, branding, and public relations activities.
The successful candidate will create high-quality visual materials for print and digital platforms, support social media campaigns, maintain brand consistency, and assist with photography, video editing, website content, and event coverage.
Applicants should demonstrate strong graphic design skills, creativity, time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with different University departments. Candidates must also be committed practising Christians who uphold the University's values and mission.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Academic qualification: A good Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, or a related field from a recognised institution of higher learning.
Professional experience: At least two years of working experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field in a busy working environment.
Integrity and commitment: Demonstrated high levels of integrity, dedication, and professionalism.
Photography and video editing: Knowledge of photography, photo editing, and basic video editing will be an added advantage.
Creative design skills: Ability to prepare creative artwork for both print and digital publication.
Time management: Must be hardworking and able to complete assigned tasks within established deadlines.
Teamwork and independence: Ability to work independently and provide effective support to a wider team.
Attention to detail: Ability to deliver high-quality work, demonstrate innovation, and meet expectations beyond routine assignments.
Christian commitment: Must be a committed and practising Christian.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Graphic Design Support
The Design and Graphics Assistant will:
Design and produce digital and print materials, including posters, flyers, banners, and infographics, to support the University's academic and community outreach activities.
Assist in preparing and formatting communication materials under the guidance of the supervisor.
Revise existing designs based on feedback and approved requirements.
2. Social Media Content Support
Responsibilities include:
Creating visual content for social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Supporting online campaigns that promote academic programmes, University events, and other institutional activities.
Maintaining an organised archive of digital content for easy retrieval and reuse.
3. Branding Compliance
The successful candidate will maintain consistency in the University's visual identity, including logos, typography, colour schemes, and messaging, across communication materials and platforms.
4. Website and Multimedia Assistance
The role involves:
Designing, updating, and maintaining visual and multimedia content for University websites to ensure accuracy, relevance, and a user-friendly experience.
Assisting with photo editing and video clipping when required.
5. Event Promotion and Coverage
The candidate will:
Prepare promotional materials for University events and activities.
Provide support during events through photography, videography, and basic editing to document and promote institutional activities.
6. Collaboration and Institutional Support
Responsibilities include:
Working collaboratively with academic and administrative departments to meet their communication and promotional needs.
Providing design support for admissions, marketing, and public relations activities.
7. Other Duties
Perform any other official duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
