Position Summary
The Fleet Supervisor will oversee vehicle-related operations at Marriott Hotel Kampala, ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional management of hotel vehicles, parking areas, transportation services, and vehicle traffic.
The role also involves supporting guest services, maintaining vehicle and key security, supervising employees, and ensuring compliance with Marriott's safety, service, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet and Vehicle Operations
Document all vehicle incidents and submit reports to the relevant manager or supervisor.
Review shift logs and daily memo books.
Inspect hotel vehicles regularly to ensure they are in proper condition.
Maintain the security of vehicles and vehicle keys.
Monitor and direct vehicle traffic on hotel premises.
Ensure vehicles are legally and appropriately parked.
Maintain smooth and efficient traffic flow within the property.
Communicate parking procedures and requirements to guests and visitors.
Monitor parking areas and levels and report potential security concerns.
Arrange transportation for guests and visitors.
Record advance transportation requests.
Guest Service
Provide guests with directions and information about hotel facilities, services, operating hours, and local attractions.
Welcome and acknowledge guests according to Marriott's service standards.
Anticipate and respond appropriately to guest transportation and service needs.
Assist guests and individuals with disabilities where required.
Thank guests and provide courteous, professional service.
Handle telephone calls using appropriate professional etiquette.
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Staff Supervision and Development
Assist management with employee training, scheduling, performance evaluation, discipline, and motivation.
Serve as a role model for employees and maintain high standards of professionalism.
Act as a first point of contact for employees regarding the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
Develop positive working relationships with team members.
Support the team in achieving common operational and service goals.
Listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and quality service.
Safety, Compliance and Security
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management.
Complete required safety training and certifications.
Ensure adherence to established quality and safety standards.
Maintain the security of hotel vehicles, keys, parking areas, and other company assets.
Protect confidential and proprietary company information.
Ensure professional uniform and personal grooming standards are maintained.
Administrative and Other Duties
Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely.
Maintain appropriate operational records and reports.
Ensure accurate communication of relevant vehicle and guest-service information.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors or management.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants should have:
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
At least one (1) year of related work experience.
At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Required Qualification
A valid Driver's License.
