Role overview
What you'll be stepping into
The Marketing Intern will support ABC’s digital marketing, content development, campaign execution, and stakeholder engagement activities. The internship will provide practical marketing experience within Uganda’s fintech and digital financial services sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. BRAND ACTIVATION
Support the rollout of ABC’s brand across approved digital and physical channels.
Assist in updating presentations, brochures, templates, banners, and other marketing materials.
Review marketing materials for consistency with ABC’s brand guidelines.
Support internal and external rebrand communication and launch activities.
2. DIGITAL MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA
Develop and schedule approved social media content.
Support digital campaigns promoting ABC’s agent banking, payments, collections, merchant services, remittances, and APIs.
Monitor social media engagement and prepare basic performance reports.
Support approved website and digital content updates.
Research creative digital marketing ideas relevant to ABC’s target audiences.
3. CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Draft social media posts, customer stories, product explainers, event communication, and email content.
Support the preparation of communication materials for customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
4. MARKET RESEARCH AND CAMPAIGN SUPPORT
Conduct basic research on competitors, customer needs, and industry trends.
Support customer awareness campaigns, field activations, and joint initiatives with partner financial service providers.
Collect campaign data and assist in analysing results.
Document customer and stakeholder feedback for management review.
5. EVENTS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Support the coordination of partner engagements, product launches, internal awareness sessions, and industry events.
Prepare event materials, attendance records, and activity reports.
Provide administrative and logistical support for approved marketing activities.
KEY INTERNSHIP DELIVERABLES
During the three-month internship, the intern will contribute to:
Monthly approved social media content calendars;
Updated and properly branded marketing materials;
Digital campaign and social media performance reports;
Documentation of supported events and market activations; and
An end-of-internship report summarising activities, results, and recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
Finalist or recent graduate in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Basic knowledge of social media management, content creation, and digital communication.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using Canva or similar design tools is an added advantage.
Interest in fintech, financial inclusion, and digital financial services is desirable.
