What you'll be stepping into
Job Purpose.
To perform laboratory tests that aid in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
Key Responsibilities Areas.
Prepare samples and conduct laboratory tests according to standard operating procedures in the areas of serology, hematology, immunology, and parasitology.
Record, report, and maintain laboratory tests and results accurately.
Organize medical laboratory screenings and conduct health education within Watoto medical services.
Maintain laboratory supplies within the laboratory and work closely with fellow laboratory personnel and Procurement to ensure that the laboratory is well stocked.
Comply with regulatory guidelines and standard operating procedures and participate in the continual development of standard operating procedures within the laboratory.
Perform quality assurance/quality control procedures, include proficiency testing and Internal quality control as scheduled.
Adhere to laboratory safety and infection control procedures
. Maintain proper laboratory equipment operation to ensure optimum functionality.
Conduct continuous medical education for the medical personnel for continual development.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.
Diploma in Medical Laboratory from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
At least two years of working experience in a laboratory setting.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well with children of all ages.
