About the Role
The key purpose of the Operator role is to interpret and implement the production plan and monitor and control production processes during shifts.
The successful candidate will use appropriate operational tools and systems in line with VPO (Value Production Optimisation) standards, including OWS, Team Rooms, and 5S, while ensuring production, quality, safety, and performance targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Process Management
Interpret and implement the production plan for each shift.
Monitor and control production processes using appropriate VPO tools and standards.
Use all required digital tools during shift operations.
Perform quality analysis and ensure process quality and productivity targets are achieved.
Manage waste and by-products during the shift.
Execute VPO implementation plans according to established standards.
Ensure proper understanding and application of VPO standards.
Work towards achieving all shift goals and production targets.
Safety and Workplace Standards
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
Follow established safety procedures and operational standards.
Use escalation procedures to reduce response and reaction time when issues occur.
Ensure administration systems and procedures are properly applied.
Complete all required administration within the required timelines and according to VPO standards.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
Apply appropriate problem-solving and decision-making techniques.
Initiate problem-solving activities based on identified triggers on the OWS.
Respond effectively to production challenges and operational deviations.
Escalate unresolved issues through the appropriate channels.
Teamwork and Development
Contribute to personal and team development.
Drive and maintain an individual development plan.
Ensure training bucket compliance and SKAP plan execution.
Support colleagues and contribute to achieving team and organisational objectives.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

The ability to work effectively in a production environment.
