What you'll be stepping into
Yalelo is seeking an organised, customer-focused, and hardworking Outlet Assistant to support daily outlet operations. The successful candidate will help manage stock, prepare customer orders, maintain product quality, handle sales transactions, and ensure excellent customer service.
The role is essential to achieving outlet sales targets, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring efficient retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support sales growth initiatives and contribute to monthly outlet sales targets.
Deliver excellent customer service and resolve or escalate customer complaints.
Receive stock supplies, manage inventory, and ensure fridges are adequately stocked.
Inspect fish quality and ensure proper handling, icing, storage, processing, and packaging.
Prepare customer orders, process payments, and record transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
Assist with cash reconciliations, banking sales revenue, and end-of-day stock checks.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the outlet, equipment, and working tools.
Inspect outlet equipment, including fridges, weighing scales, and POS systems.
Follow workplace safety procedures, retail standard operating procedures, and company policies.
Attend training and support other outlet administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
A minimum of a Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration or a related field.
At least a Credit in Mathematics at UCE.
A Principal Pass in Economics or Entrepreneurship Education at UACE.
Two years of experience in fish processing, fish handling, or a related field is an advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong customer care and communication skills.
Good command of English and local languages.
Accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
Knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures.
Willingness to work long hours when required and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
