What you'll be stepping into
To safely and efficiently operate a reach stacker for loading, unloading, stacking, transferring, and positioning containers and other heavy cargo within Uganda Railways Corporation terminals, ensuring maximum operational efficiency while complying with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), environmental regulations and URC operational procedures. 14.Assist in other terminal operations as assigned by management. 15.Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity and reducing turnaround time. A. Academic Qualifications
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) is an added advantage.
• Certificate in Heavy Equipment Operation or related field from a recognized institution.
B. Professional Qualifications
• Valid Reach Stacker Operator Certificate.
• Valid Ugandan Driving Permit (appropriate class for heavy equipment).
• Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) training is an added advantage.
C. Experience
• At least 2 years' experience operating a Reach Stacker or similar container handling equipment.
• Experience in container terminals, railway operations, inland container depots, ports or logistics facilities.
