USIU-Africa 2026 Scholarships and Financial Aid Programmes

The mission of United States International University-Africa is to promote the discovery and application of knowledge, the acquisition of skills, and the development of intellect and character in a manner that prepares students to contribute effectively and ethically as citizens of a changing and increasingly technological world. The Financial Aid Office supports this mission by providing students with access to internal and external financial sources to support their educational costs

Objectives.

• The primary goal of the USIU-Africa Financial Aid Office is to Provide Students with full access to all available sources of both Internal and External financial assistance in order to meet their educational costs while pursuing their studies at USIU-Africa.

• Financial Aid Office is also committed to supporting the University achieve its Vision and Mission of providing quality, all round education to a diversified population of students.

• Enhance diversity in student enrollments thus encouraging multi-cultural appreciation and interaction among students from different nationalities and socio-economic backgrounds.

• To recognize the support of parents and alumni.

• Help in the career development of students through Campus Work Opportunities and Graduate Assistantships.

General Eligibility Criteria.

• Fulfil all the relevant financial aid application and selection procedures within the stipulated time lines.

• Be of good conduct.

• Meet the academic requirements to remain eligible.

• Awards are subject to availability of funds.

• Students may apply for more than one financial aid program depending on circumstances and eligibility.

• In addition to the specific criteria provided for each of the financial aid programs, all applicants must abide by the policies and regulations that govern the university

• Full USIU-Africa Scholarship:
  This is merit and need based scholarship that covers the full costs of tuition, books, technology, laboratory, room and board fees in the university hostels. Applicants must have attained a mean grade of B+ (Plus) or better, with at least a B plain in English and Mathematics. The scholarship is offered in Fall (September) of every year and successful candidates must maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.3 and above to remain eligible.

• Partial USIU-Africa Scholarship:
  This is merit and need based 100% tuition-only scholarship for applicants with demonstrated financial need. Applicants must have attained a mean grade of B (Plain) or better, with at least a B- (minus) in English and Mathematics. The scholarship is offered in Fall (September) of every year and successful candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above to remain eligible.

• Sports Scholarships:
  This is a 65% tuition-only scholarship for students in sports disciplines that are relevant to the university sports program needs. Applicants must have attained a mean grade of C+ (Plus) or better. Successful candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and above to remain eligible.

• First-Time Freshman Scholarship:
  This is a 30% scholarship for local and international students. Applicants must have attained a mean grade of B (Plain) or better, with at least a B- (minus) in English and Mathematics. The scholarship is offered in Fall (September) of every year and successful candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above to remain eligible.

• Criminal Justice Studies Scholarship:
  This is a 50% tuition-only scholarship to Kenyan civil servants seeking to pursue their Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies at USIU-Africa. The scholarship is offered in Fall (September) of every year. Applicants must have attained a mean grade of B (Plain) or better, with at least a B- (minus) in English and Mathematics. Successful candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above to remain eligible.

• Diversity Scholarships:
  This is a 100% tuition-only scholarship for qualified applicants from Under-Represented Communities and Persons with Disability. Applicants must have attained a mean grade of B (Plain) or better, with at least a B- (minus) in English and Mathematics. The scholarship is offered in Fall (September) of every year and successful candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above to remain eligible.
