Role overview
What you'll be stepping into
Specific responsibilities include:
Administer and maintain the Core Banking System (CBS) to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
Provide day-to-day technical support to users, resolving system incidents, errors, and service disruptions in a timely manner
Monitor system performance and proactively identify, analyze, and resolve potential issues to prevent downtime
Manage and implement system configurations, including products, parameters, workflows, and user roles
Support and enforce maker-checker controls, user access rights, and system security protocols in line with bank policies
Coordinate and support End-of-Day (EOD), End-of-Month (EOM), and End-of-Year (EOY) processing to ensure successful completion
Perform root cause analysis on system incidents and provide permanent solutions to recurring issues
Support system changes, upgrades, and releases, including participation in testing (UAT) and validation of enhancements
Ensure strict adherence to change management processes, including approvals and audit trails
Monitor and support integrations between CBS and digital channels, third-party systems, and APIs
Ensure data integrity and accuracy, including reconciliation of transactions and investigation of discrepancies
Maintain and enforce system security, audit controls, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides, and operational procedures
Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into system configurations
Liaise with CBS vendors and service providers to resolve complex issues and support system enhancements
Generate and support reports required for operations, management, and audit purposes
Academic qualifications, Experience & competence: –
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or any other related field.
3 years’ experience in IT Operations
Experience in software development or database administration in a busy organization
Microsoft and Database Management certification is desirable.
ICT Security Knowledge will be of added advantage.
