What you'll be stepping into
The English Lecturer is responsible for delivering instruction in English Language and Literature, developing students' communication and analytical skills.
Teaching and Learning: Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in English Language and Literature. Design and develop course materials, ensuring content is current, relevant, and aligned with the curriculum.
Student Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects, dissertations, and creative writing. Provide academic guidance to foster their professional development.
Assessment and Evaluation: Set, administer, and grade assignments, essays, tests, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback. Conduct continuous assessments and end-of-semester examinations to evaluate student progress.
Research and Scholarship: Conduct research in English Language, Literature, or related fields and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals. Seek external research funding and contribute to the body of knowledge.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design, review, and improvement of the English curriculum to ensure it meets national and international standards.
Promote Literacy: Foster a culture of reading, writing, and critical thinking among students.
Academic Service: Participate in departmental and faculty meetings, serve on academic committees, and contribute to the overall development of the department.

Tenure of Appointment: Appointments for Salary Scales PU1 to PU3 are issued on a contract basis.
