What you'll be stepping into
The Loan Consultant reports to the Branch Manager and serves as a key point of contact for Unifi clients.
The role involves guiding customers through the loan process, explaining products clearly, accurately capturing client information, supporting responsible lending, contributing to branch targets, and building strong relationships with clients and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome clients warmly and guide them through the loan application process in a clear and straightforward manner.
Explain Unifi loan products accurately and transparently, ensuring clients understand the terms and conditions.
Capture client information accurately and ensure all required documentation is complete and correct.
Handle cash, client information, and records responsibly, accurately, and with integrity.
Take ownership of branch targets and contribute actively to achieving business objectives.
Support collections by following up with clients respectfully and helping identify practical repayment solutions.
Work collaboratively with the branch team to maintain a clean, organised, and professional branch environment.
Contribute to creating a positive and high-performing workplace.
Protect client information and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Follow responsible lending procedures, internal controls, and processes while remaining alert to potential fraud.
Engage with the local community to increase awareness and understanding of Unifi's products and services.
Identify challenges, suggest practical solutions, and provide feedback that can improve branch operations and customer experience.
Demonstrate Unifi's values by treating clients and colleagues with dignity, communicating clearly, taking ownership, and following through on commitments.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
A certificate, diploma, or degree in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related commercial field is an advantage.
At least one year of experience in a customer-facing, sales, or retail environment.
Basic understanding of financial and credit concepts.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
A strong client-first mindset, with the ability to serve customers with care, urgency, and dignity.
Calm, patient, and practical approach when working in a busy environment.
Target-oriented, ambitious, and motivated to achieve and grow.
Self-organised, reliable, and capable of managing workloads independently.
Ability to follow established processes and systems accurately.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
