What you'll be stepping into
Stanbic Bank Uganda is seeking an experienced and commercially focused professional to lead its Commercial Asset Finance business.
The Head, Commercial & Asset Finance will be responsible for translating business strategy into sustainable growth, strong portfolio performance, profitability, and exceptional client outcomes.
The role will provide leadership across sales execution, business performance, risk and governance, stakeholder engagement, operational effectiveness, and talent development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the Commercial Asset Finance strategy, operating model, and quarterly sales plans.
Drive profitable portfolio growth through new client acquisition, relationship deepening, cross-selling, and strategic partnerships.
Manage asset pricing, margins, revenue, costs, budgets, and overall business performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients while delivering tailored asset and structured finance solutions.
Partner with Credit, Risk, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to strengthen end-to-end service delivery, improve service standards, and reduce turnaround times.
Maintain strong portfolio quality and ensure full compliance with credit, regulatory, audit, fraud-prevention, and governance requirements.
Analyse market, client, and business performance insights to identify growth opportunities, manage emerging threats, and inform strategic decisions.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team by building the required capabilities, accountability, and succession pipeline.
Drive continuous improvement across the Commercial Asset Finance business and ensure alignment with broader organisational objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
A postgraduate qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
8–10 years of relevant professional experience in asset-based finance, relationship banking, and/or corporate or business banking.
A proven track record of delivering revenue growth, managing complex portfolios, and leading sales teams.
Advanced knowledge of asset finance products, credit assessment, pricing, risk management, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated experience managing senior stakeholders, strategic client relationships, and cross-functional business delivery.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate strategy into measurable business results.
