Millwright / Machinery Installer

• Deliver end to end heavy machinery rigging, precision alignment, leveling, structural steel fabrication, and pump mounting across factory operations.

• Inspect, diagnose, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment to guarantee reliable performance, operating safety, and proper handovers to production teams.

• Support plant reliability and cost control by executing preventive maintenance, identifying equipment failure trends, and maintaining complete technical documentation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform heavy machinery rigging, leveling, laser alignment, and pump mounting in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturer manuals.

• Fabricate and weld structural steel components required for machinery installations, retrofits, and equipment support structures.

• Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical equipment, distinguishing root causes from surface symptoms to prevent repeat failures.

• Apply mechanical, electrical, pressure, thermal, confined space, and stored energy isolation controls prior to starting intrusive work.

• Verify guards, settings, lubrication, connections, and alignment before conducting controlled tests or handing equipment over to operations.

• Execute planned preventive and predictive maintenance checks, recording wear, vibration, temperature, leakage, and unusual noise.

• Coordinate maintenance and installation schedules with operations teams to ensure parts, permits, tools, and shutdown windows are ready in advance.

• Maintain complete, legible, and traceable records of machine settings, inspection checklists, work logs, and handover reports.

• Support root cause investigations into mechanical breakdowns and recommend corrective measures that enhance safety, reliability, and plant efficiency.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Millwright Trade Certificate.

• Bachelor's Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, National Diploma, National Certificate, Craft Certificate, trade certificate, or recognized apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Automation and Control, Instrumentation, Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Fitting, Welding and Fabrication, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Automotive Engineering, Water Engineering, Chemical Technology, Civil or Building Engineering, Plumbing, Marine Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

• Recognized UBTEB, TVET qualifications, manufacturer training, or certified trade credentials in welding and mechanical installation.

Experience

• 3+ years in machine installation or heavy industrial fitting.
